Hello! Patient underwent a laparoscopic Salpingectomy-Oophorectomy on the left side due to a large ovarian cyst.
During the procedure, the provider documents endometriosis of the pelvic cavity.
The notes state "Because of the endometriosis noted, I decided to perform cystoscopy."
This was done and all results showed no abnormalities.
Can I report the 52000 CPT with a modifier along with the 58661? The provider did not perform the cystoscopy to check her work and verify no damage was done during the procedure, but for diagnostic reasons found incidental to the procedure.
