Hello, I am looking for advice on how you would assign codes for a situation we have been coming across lately. A provider has patient come in and performs a procedure like a cystoscopy, then recommends surgery. Is this significant enough to assign an E/M code? What if the provider reviews 2 new external test results? Or, just decides to continue medication? Basically, how much e/m do you believe is built into a procedure and what should stand alone?
