Hi, We did a Mohs surgery 17311 and used D001.1 for Carcinoma in situ of labial mucosa and vermilion border. IBC denied it saying, Per Medical Policy, we do not cover this service or item when provided for the diagnosis reported. Therefore, no payment can be made.

Has anyone seen this before and what did you do? I do not understand why they won't cover the labial mucosa.
