when a patient have a THR ( total hip replacement) still in the post. Do you still list the reason for surgery dx. code or do just list the aftercare code and the status code.
 
once a condition has been corrected via surgery or the condition has resolved you do not code it any longer, you use appropriate aftercare codes and status code if applicable.
 
I agree use the appropriate aftercare code in the global period. if the patient is out of the global period us the appropriate status post code.
