This is regarding remote pacemaker monitoring, 93294, which is reported no more than once every 90 days. Question is how are you billing this when the date of death is prior to completing the 90 days monitoring yet we have completed more than 30 days? If we use the date of death as date of service it is denied as too frequent. Any suggestions?

This same question was asked a few months ago here on the forum. I don't think that there is any way to bill this that will bypass the Medicare edits. Your only option, as I see it, is to file a written appeal explaining the situation and see if that might work. My suspicion is that the appeal would be denied, but it doesn't hurt to try. Given the amount that this code reimburses, I wouldn't recommend investing a lot of time fighting it though.
