Wiki Date of service

Can anyone tell me which date is used when a patient comes in at say 11:30pm to have a procedure, the procedure is started at 11:35 and does not end until 12:30am the next day. Do you use the date the procedure started or the date it ended?:confused

What is your policy

You should have a policy in place to address this. We always use start date.

I was always taught start date and that is what practices that I have worked with have always used.
