I recently started coding for a Critical Care group and i have some questions regarding death pronouncments. This is the scenario... My Critical Care doc pronounces the patient and the attending writes up the discharge. Who bills what? From what I have researched it seems that because my doc had the face to face contact we bill for the discharge. This seems to be a gray area that I can't find any exact clarification on. Any help is appreciated.
