Patient has left wrist pain and infection. I need help with the CPT for left wrist incision and drainage. Here is a portion of the op report.
Description of procedure.....Incision was made in the dorsal aspect of the left wrist. Subcutaneous tissues were carefully divided upon entering by wrist extensor tenosynovium and cloudy fluid was encountered and sent to pathology for further analysis along with specimen of the tenosynovium. Tenosynovium was extensively debrided. This fluid did track into the radial carpal joint. This area was then thoroughly irrigated with antibiotic solution containing vancomycin.
Can anyone help with this CPT? I'm looking at 25040 or maybe 25118?
Thank you,
