I have a general practitioner that treated a patient for a leg abrasion yesterday with an in-office debridement. He feels he should charge 97597, but in my opinion it should be 11045.

As always it is dependent on the documentation.

In any case, 11045 (by itself) would not be correct since it is an add-on code to 11042. This code set is for subcutaneous debridement. Did the provider debride subcutaneous tissue?
