Hi guys,

I need help answering this question. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.
A patient presents to the clinic with a 3.5cm x 6.5cm wound on the upper forearm and 10.5cm x 4.0cm decubitus ulcer on the buttocks. The provider did a 100% debridement on both wounds down to and including the subcutaneous level. What code(s) should be reported for this service?

22.75 sq cm upper arm 11042, 11045

42 sq cm buttocks 11042, 11045, 11045

Hi!
You will add the debridement of same depths even if done on separate body parts. Since both debreidements are at subcutaneous level with a sum of 64.75 sq. cm you will code 1 unit of 11042 and 3 units of 11045.
