Hi, can anyone let me know what should we do if patient came for screening for Neurocognitive testing and it turns out to be deferred with no other psychiatric history as we cannot give Z series as Pdx, only can give F series, pls suggest ICD code (claim denied for medical necessity, Payer-BCBS Florida).

Check out dx block of F01, F02 ,F03,or F06 , or R41.3 ,R41.81 or G30 to compliment dementia and mild neurocognitive. Then use Z dx code last . Ensure what you select matches documentation. Ahh do you have access to Encoder? Just typing the word in can help you locate the correct dx code .
