Wiki Denial for inappropriate coding for 99291

We received several denials from community health choice for inappropriate coding for invoices for one patient. The ICD 10 codes are K70.31 and R17. The CPT is 99291. Our manager suggested we remove R17 to get it accepted. Do you think this will be sufficient?
