I am trying to help a friend. It has been a while since i have billed dental claims. I hope that you can give me a general refresher. When filing medical and dental insurance for oral surgery, The medical and dental do not coordinate correct? How is the proper way of handling claims? Overpayments, if any? Thank you so much in advance for all of your help!!

dental billing

That is true, they do not coordinate. You must declare to dental what medical paid and vice versa. If it is truly medical, that should be where the claim is filed and there should be no overpayment issue. If one arises, dental insurance is where the refund goes. Hope that helps.
