Can anyone clarify for me when billing an EPSDT well visit with PCP does D0145, oral health assessment, HAVE to be billed in conjunction with D1206, application of fluoride varnish, or can D0145 be billed alone without D1206. In other words can the assessment be billed without having to provide and bill for the fluoride when not needed. I have received multiple answers from multiple sources and needless to say the answers all differ based on opinion. So I'm still not sure. A reference to specific documentation if available would be greatly appreciated. The joys of coding, my friends! :)
