Just wondering if any of you have anesthesiologists that do in office sedations for dental procedures. We bill ASA 00170 and E/M 99201,25. We are finding that even after attaching the H&P that we rarely get covered for the E/M. And if dentist offices don't precert the dental procedure through the medical insurance we end up billing the patient. Our office now assists the dental offices with the precerts so that we can get paid but I thought that precerts had to be done by the ordering doctor not the anesthesiologist since we did not order the procedure.
