Wiki Depo Injection - I have a provider that is injecting

I have a provider that is injecting J1020 (20mg) bilaterally. 20mg on right side and 20mg on left side

Do I bill one of the following ways
J1030 which is 40mg
J1020-50
J1020-LT & J1020-RT
J1020 x 2

Any website that you can direct me to would be helpful.

We always bill drugs used in the joint injections with units, not 50 or RT, LT modifiers.

So it would be appropriate to bill J1020 x 2 ?

you should bill with 2 units-rt and lt modifiers would not be appropriate.

You should code only the J1030 (40 mg) with 1 unit for the total 40 mgs injected. Drugs are coded based on the total amount given during that visit. That your provider decided to split the 40mgs into 2 injections (patient comfort?) doesnt mean you split the coding
