As per the code description its 15 min can we use the same code if the duration is less than 15 min or below half time of 8 min?
 
Unlike other timed codes depression screening is payable if 1 or more minutes is documented. Be sure the documentation also includes the screening tool used, the results, who performed the screening, the results were discussed with the patient and a plan even if it's no further plan. This has been a hot topic the last year for cms and MACs. Your MAC should have more info on their website. It's also not appropriate for patients already diagnosed with depression.
