Does anyone know if a dermatologist the uses dx like a Squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma, but the patient test negative by pathologist, what Dx should we used?

If you are billing off the pathology report you cannot report the neoplasm, you must report what the pathology report states.

one more question if scenario: patient had biopsy and pathology ie 3 weeks ago dx SCC follow up excision today pathology negative would ICD10 be SCC or negative/ history dx?

I will use the L98.9 or R23.8 dx on these..or whatever the pathologist DX on report is. You would report the DX of the pathology report
