Hello- we have noticed that we are getting paid more by insurance on dexa scans when ever the MD orders it and it is billed under the MD versus when the NP, PA, or mid level orders it and it is billed under them. So.. my question is is it possible to bill all dexas under MD if he makes his recommendations and signs off even if the mid level ordered it? Granted we are a large facilty with 30 providers, 400+ patients a day and we use electronic health records.
Any insight would be appreciated!:)
