We have an issue at our office currently where patients are given dexamethasone sodium phosphate (vial actually says this) at .25 mg orally. How would you code this in HCPCS- i see if we use J8540 that is for Decadron for .25mg, or do we use J1100 for the actual dexamethasone sodium phosphate-- except that says Injectable and per 1 mg. I know if we didn't actually give 1mg then we technically couldn't charge for it, correct? Any help is appreciated!
