If a patient has Diabetes and macular degeneration, is there a combination code I should be using?

Reviewing the the ICD-10 index, there is not a automatic assumed relationship between diabetes and macular degeneration. The provider would have to provide the relationship between the two in order to come close to using EXX.39-Diabetes (type) ophthalmic complication NEC.

relationship words would be, 'due to' 'secondary to' 'caused by' 'diabetic xyz'.
