Has anyone been experiencing denials from BCBS in regards to patients with diabetes that also have foot ulcers? According to coding guidelines, we would code the diabetes with foot ulcer and then the ulcer. However, we are getting denials from BCBS stating that the diabetes is a manifestation code and should not be coded first.
