I code chronic conditions. My question has to do with DM.
Do diabetic complications ever go away? I know hypoglycemia goes away, but what about neuropathy, nephropathy, or retinopathy? Are these codes ok to be using?

it is very unusual for the complications to go away, I suppose if a patient had lost a great deal of weight they might, but as a general rule these complications do not go away and so should always be code when addressed.
