What code would be best to use for "contracted digit"? It's apparently not a hammertoe, because that is listed as well for a different toe. 735.8 was denied by the payer.
Thanks!

Hi,

Dupuytren's contracture: flexion deformity of finger, due to shortened, thickened fibrosing of palmar fascia; cause unknown; associated with long-standing epilepsy.

ICD code leads to 728.6. Hope this helps you.:)

tht is a finger. 735.8 sounds like the right code, was the claim denied due to dx? was it a coverage issue? If the contracture is acquired then it is most likely a late effect of some incident if so what? You may need more codes or you are lacking something in the documentation to complete the story or this was a denial for reasons not related to the dx.
