When the impression of an xray says "degenerative changes in spine" or "degenerative changes in hip" etc. Can you assign osteoarthritis? There is no known history of it before this xray usually the indication is just for pain and they don't find any fractures just "degenerative changes" :confused:
 
If you look up the code by degeneration/joint/site, it will give you the osteoarthritis code, so i have been using it, id like to see other input also in case im doing it wrong...
