Diagnosis pointers. Can a E-code diagnosis be pointed to a CPT? where can I find more information on the diagnosis pointers & guidelines.

Yes it can but, NEVER as a primary code. You must supply a primary code such as an injury and poisoning code first, then include the E code if required by the payer. See ICD-9-CM guidelines chapter 19.

Diagnosis pointers

Can you clarify a little more.:)

Provider billed HCPCS J2505 and has the E9331 pointing to that HCPCS code. Isn't that incorrect.

also they have 96372 and V762 pointing to that procedure as well.

They do have dx 204.1 & 288.03 listed but nothing pointed to them.
