Good Afternoon,

I need some clarification, I code & bill outpatient physician charges. One of our doctors was on call over the weekend, discharged a patient for another practice and let me know the patients name and date. The transcription never showed up in the Hospital EMR system for me to bill. The medical records dept is 15days behind so will have to wait for that as well. I asked the Dr did he dictate he told me no, the Dr or Dr's PA he covered would dictate the note. Is this normal?
