For IR hospital side reporting: Patient is scheduled for bx of rib & during the planned CT guidance it's determined that lesion is too small to be biopsied. I have been asked to review & am looking at codes 20220 & 77012 for the procedure but this must be modified as the biopsy was not performed. Since 77012 is secondary code I am thinking 20220-73 & 77012-52. Normally local anesthesia would be used though & so not sure about modifier 73. How can IR capture the CT charge in this scenario?
