Hi all it’s been two years since I had my CPC-A certification and no luck with a job yet i have been searching on LinkedIn and networking, I been putting in many applications and been turned down I really don’t know what I am doing wrong I even had my resume look over by professionals. I know they say not to get discouraged but I’m really at that point after two years and nothing in this field or close to it, my membership is due soon for renewal and I’m not sure if I should renew it because one I don’t have a job doing anything pertaining to to coding field and two it’s to much to pay. If anyone have any tips for me I would greatly appreciate it appreciate it because I’m really ready to throw in the towel and take this as a lost.

Aurora has a facility in Mt Pleasant as well as Kenosha, in addition to an ACS in Pleasant Prairie, and various clinics. They do hire CPC-A for Coder I positions.

Hi,
I understand how you feel. It's been a year for me. We have to stay positive. I'm saying this to myself too. It is expensive, and buying new books etc. I believe it will all be worth it if we just hold on a little longer. I can't wait to start my new role. Good luck!

I have also not had any luck finding a job over the last year. It is very frustrating. Almost all of the job postings want experience. Not sure how to get experience if no one is hiring new coders. I have worked in healthcare for many years, and even that does not seem to be helpful. Good luck to you!

While taking my CPB and CPC courses, I found a job working front desk at a medical office. I just passed my CPC and my current job is with a different practice working as an office manager. It was my job working front desk that got my foot in the door and some experience understanding the front end of medical billing (patient registration). That job lead to my current job. Now I'm looking for coding jobs as I've almost been working in a medical office for two years. It will happen you just need to look at a different approach so you can gain some experience. Some of the women I worked front desk with, waited two years then applied to coding jobs and got hired right away. Hang in there.

Even if in LinkedIn, you can search CPC or Medical Coder, Medical Coding Specialist, Professional Coder. Not all of the jobs out there require a full CPC. A lot of them allow a CPC-A and consider it a CPC. I’ve been focusing on the Remote jobs for US as location and there are a lot of possibilities out there.
