Would it be appropriate to count reviewing the labs to assess a pt's blood sugar as a physical exam element under the hematologic/immunologic/lymphatic system? I'm clarifying for the provider whether this can be considered part of the physical exam vs. strictly part of the medical decision-making.

Thanks,
Cyndi

Reviewing labs

Reviewing labs is a data element in determining MDM. It is not part of the examination of the patient.

Hope that helps.
