How do y'all code this? I see it every so often, K57 has an excludes 1 for congenital diverticulum - Q43.8 - problem is redundant colon is also coded with Q43.8. I find it odd this is an excludes 1 when it is an 'other specified' code and has other uses besides congenital diverticulum. Either way - since it does have the excludes we have just been coding Q43.8 but I feel like this just doesn't represent the findings quite right, looking for some insight! I have also not seen any indication diverticulosis and redundant colon are related but rather that they have an inverse relationship, so I want to capture both conditions.
