I know there has to be a "cause and effect" documentation in order to use the DM with complications codes... would this would suffice? Maybe I'm being to picky?
• Ulcer of other part of foot
• DM manif NEC type II-effects to the feet.

Is this enough to demonstrate the "cause and effect" relationship between the DM and the manifestation?
 
Yes, that would work. The provider just needs to link the manifestation to the diabetes, which was covered by the second statement.
