I know that you are supposed to use ICD 9 codes for any claims before October 1 and ICD 10 for any claims after October 1. What happens if you have a range of dates that starts in September and goes into October? Does the claim get split or is the entire claim submitted with ICD-9 codes?

I've had people tell me both ways.

Dates of service prior to 10/1 get the ICD9 codes and starting 10/1 they must use ICD10 so yes you would need to split up your claims to separate these.
