We're looking at possibly providing estim units to our patients. Considering buying the units and then supplying them only to patients that have either work or auto inj's. The supplier is telling us if we do this the correct code for the unit itself is E0744. When I look up that code in the HCPCS manual it says "Neuromuscular stimulator for scoliosis". As our patients are typically w/c and auto injuries we're obviously not treating scoliosis. There is another code E0745 "Neuromuscular stimulator, electronic shock unit" which seems more appropriate. The supplier says E0744 is the "industry standard". If anyone has any knowledge in this area and can shed any light it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
