Wiki DME for podiatry and Humana

We have had several claims deny for the KX modifier we are using when billing for items that would be billed as DME such as diabetic shoes & inserts. These plans for Humana are Medicare Replacement plans in the past these have paid now they are denying for incorrect modifier. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a Medicare Advantage plan then you have to bill the DME to Humana in the same was you would to the DME MAC.

When I bill my diabetic shoes and inserts to Humana I always put LT, RT, and KX modifier and it pays.. Were you using just KX without the left or right modifier?
