I'm billing L3020 Rt and L3020 LT for a podiatrist to DME. The denial I've gotten is that there is missing indication of whether the patient owns the equipment that requres the part or supply. Is there a particular field on the CMS 1500 that this needs to be indicated? I've never had a denial like this before. Any help would be apprecidated. Thanks!

The answer to this question completely depends on the payer. Are you having this issue with only one payer? Remember that L3020 is not covered by Medicare nor Medicare advantage plans.
