Hello,

Does anyone know if discharge services 99238-99239 are included in the Global OB package 59400, 59510 and 59610? If there is a reference I can go to I would greatly appreciate it.

Per ACOG Obstetrical Coding guidelines, the three codes you are asking about are global codes and include the postpartum period, both inpatient and outpatient (the postpartum visit in the office). So that would include the inpatient discharge services.
