Hi any information would be appreciated. Unsure how to code. Thank you!
 
If physician merely co-signs the note, the billing would be done under the ARNP. If the physician also performs a face-to-face service with the patient (and documents such), it may be billed as a split/shared visit combining all of the care and billed under the physician. Please note split/shared is permitted in hospital inpt, outpt & ER settings, but not office settings, and excludes critical care codes. The physician and PA/NP must also be a part of the same group practice.
