I am about to give an in-service to our pediatricians on e/m coding. I have listed what is needed for the hpi ie(brief 1-3 detailed 4+, extended 4+ complete ros/pfsh) etc, pe(bullets needed), and mdm. Our doctors usually dont't do an ros with a sick visit but i would like them to start. I am trying to put together a precise packet of 1997 guidelines without making it too involved so they won't read it. Any suggestions?? Some of these doctors have been practicing for 30 years so breaking habits is going to be hard!!! Any helpful hints would be great !thanks alot :d
