Hello,

I am trying to see if someone can help me clarify a situation my doctors are confused about. We have a doctor that is under on of our physicians' tax I.D and she is not contracted under Universal HealthCare. She saw a patient who has that insurance and since the other physician is contracted they wanted to know if the doctor makes an addendum note in the chart to sign off because she had already signed off, would it be valid or can they even do that?

Thanks

No a physician cannot sign off for another physician and you cannot bill a physician service under another physician. If he is not credentialed then those services are out of network.
