We have a physician who saw a new patient to our practice for chest pain. Patient's insurance (bc/bs anthem we are in the state of Missouri) is saying that we have coded the office visit incorrectly and we need to bill it with a doctor visit code. we billed a 99244, all dictation is correct to support this code. Does anyone know what type of code they would be looking for?
 
They could be wanting an office or other outpatient visit for the evaluation and management of a new patient. Codes 99201 to 99205
