Documentation for injections/drugs

Ok, my doc does dexamethasone and kenalog injections and I know that due to 5010 we now need to include descriptions of certain J codes we bill for; but is it required that the doc include in his documentation the lot number and expiration date of the injectable? I think he should for so many reasons, but he would like not to. I can't seem to find it in writing but isn't there a rule on that?
