When coding a global delivery charge for profee billing, are you allowed to only code from the delivery note? Or is it appropriate to use the patients antepartum notes as well has hospital H&P and delivery note.
 
I was always taught it should stand alone - I would only ever look at the H+P if the delivery note specifically directed me there for info (eg, "medical induction, see H+P" ). I have never looked at antepartum notes in this case.
