I am trying to educate my physicians on their OP notes when they use an assistant at surgery they need to specify what they used the assistant for or at least mention in the OP report the need for them. Am I wrong on this? They state the name of the assistant in the heading of the note but not one word is mentioned anywhere thoughout the note as to why the surgeon used an assist or the purpose of the assist. I can't find any articles on this so maybe it really isnt necessary. Can someone direct me to where I might read a little more on this? (And have something to show to my physicians)
