We have Pulmonologists that are having the Nurse Practitioners fill out their encounter form and then the Pulmonologist signs it. :eek:( we are aware this is a misuse of the NP) but is this allowed? can you please provide a link below where I can find some specific information about this? I appreciate it!!
 
Just want to comment on the statement: "If the NP is performing the compontents of the vist, then they need to bill under their own number."

They can bill under the physician's number if all conditions of "incident to" are met.
 
You're right about the incident to. If its incident to, then it can be billed under the Dr.
