I am the billing specialist for a non profit organization that offers rehabiltation services which include PT/OT and speech to pediatric patients with disabilities. These children do not have acute conditions and undergo long term therapy for conditions such as cerebral palsy, and other congenital abnormalities. The therapists work hard on these kids to help them achieve just the basic skills that we take for granted (walking, talking, feeding themselves etc)

Now my question is that this facility is not connected to any hospital and we have a physician on board that comes in to see the children at least once a month. Would this be considered a comprehensive rehab facility and can we use place of service code 62? We are presently using POS code 11. The reimbursement is that the greatest.

Does anyone use POS code 62 and what type of facility do you work on? Any feedback would be deeply appreciated :)

What type of facility is this? You need to find out the what your facility is classified as. This will determine your POS. Unfortunately, POS isn't determined by what type of providers are performing the services, it's all based on the type of facility.

Thanks

So what you are saying is how it is defined in our contracts we sign with our carriers?
