Pt in for routine OB check. Provider also states, "pt was hospitalized over the weekend for an episode of domestic violence." Plan is to obtain records of admission for the DV.
Provider gives dx of: supervision of normal pregnancy, marital conflict.
Should I code for the mention of domestic violence? If so, would it be appropriate to use O9A.311, physical abuse complicating pregnancy? That's the closest I can find to "domestic violence." Of course, at this point it is not known the exact nature of the DV. Or is DV considered to be of a physical nature?
How would you code this?
