Does anyone know if the code 76820 for doppler for placenta issues is included in global? There isn't any CCI edits on any global or other ultra sounds codes but not sure if they would bundle. Any info appreciated! Thanks

Thankyou!! Would I use 76820?
If the documentation supports 76820, you would bill for it. Per the vignette for this code the intraservice work would be as follows:
"A segment of the umbilical cord is visualized. A duplex Doppler sampling gate is placed over a portion of an umbilical artery almost perpendicular to the axis of the gate. The gain and filters are adjusted to ensure adequate recording of diastolic flow. Two to four waveforms are recorded during a period when the fetus is inactive and fetal breathing is absent. Electronic calipers are used to measure peak systolic and end-diastolic frequency shift. One of several commonly used indices is calculated. The results of two to four waveforms is averaged and compared with gestational age specific normal values." If a separate ultrasound is performed to evaluate the fetus, it may be billed separately. Color flow done in conjunction with Doppler is not separately billable.
