I am having difficulty finding a CPT code for a Dorsal Decompression Fasciotomy due to elevated pressures of the foot. The only code I could find was 28008 and based on the lay description in Codify, I am not so sure this is correct.
Due to the elevated pressures, the decision was made to make 2
incisions along the dorsal aspect of the second metatarsal and the fourth
metatarsal for decompression fasciotomies. Once the incisions were made,
inadequate amount of blood was noted at the wound inconsistent with
compartment syndrome. The 2nd metatarsal incision was closed utilizing 2-0
Prolene with horizontal mattress and simple suture pattern.
