I have a provider that is documenting a B12 injection (which is 1000 mcg/mL) and she is stating that 30 mg was given. Would that be 30 units since there are 1,000 mcg to 1 mg?

Yes, 30 mg is equal to 30,000 mcg, so that would be 30 units of J3420, however that is an extremely large dose. One unit is the more common dose that I’ve seen for an adult. I would get clarification from the provider to make sure that isn’t an error in the record.

Thank you so much for clarifying, I was second guessing myself! Also, I have queried the provider regarding the dosage and she tells me that it's correct, so......okay. 🤷‍♀️
